Didn't tape ankles and didn't take magnifier which became a huge issue when a branch popped out a contact lens before punching first control. Thereafter I couldn't see any fine detail on map or read descriptions and even reading the ground was difficult for a while with lop sided vision. That had settled down by 4, but map reading was practically non existent in the wood.
So I relied on familiarity and seeing as much on map while in the good light when on tracks. Apart from going wrong way near 2 after going straight I rode my luck until 14. Sure I lost time, mainly 5, 6, 9, 10 & 12.
For 14 I had no idea of detail to east of control, (trees and large depression) and I had no idea what feature the control was on, and then there was no visible kite at the control. It was tied flat. So unfair. I passed quite close but didn't see it. Took bad line to 15 after.

Enjoyed the course, thought it was quite different to the usual at Donadea, some long legs and different directions to what we often do.
