Ride with Mary from the team. We took the Capital Crescent Trail to Bethesda and then up to Cabin John and back to Arlington. She's a beast and this was a great workout. I'll try to ride with her at least once a week.

Cycling (Cross) 2:00:00 [3] 18.5 mi (9.3 mph)

Cross practice with Lauren and 3 other dudes. Good workout, 4 miles mostly on the bike path there, then we did some skills and laps around a made up course with some technical bits and finally some sprints. Then I rode home. Nice to have other people (and women) to really train with.

Jason (a dude on NCVC) also sets up practice at the same park for the tiny juniors age 6-15ish. I'll probably go to that too and have some fun with them.

Cycling race (Cross) 20:00 [3]

Reckless Cross in Rockville, MD.

Wow this was bad. The course was very very fast and was pretty much just cornering (nothing technical) but I was a mess. I started off well but immediately after that was very sloppy. Kept almost wiping out and losing my grip. That's kind of my fault because I didn't have enough time to pre-ride the course so I didn't know what pressure to set my wheels to. They were too stiff which made my riding sketchy. On the second lap some lady cut me off and I hit the deck, luckily on grass but unluckily going downhill. After another half a lap I called it quits and pulled myself out of the race. I was miserable and 10 spots back from where I should have been so there was no point in doing another 25 minutes.

Sad. Hopefully next weekend is better.

Also didn't think I hit the ground hard but my entire right side of my body aches and I have lots of bruises...Just a rough day of racing.
