Cycling warm up/down (Cross) 20:00 [3]

Warm up. Didn't have enough time to pre-ride the entire course which made me a bit nervous. Very muddy.

Cycling race (Cross) 30:00 [4] 2.7 mi (5.4 mph)

Supercross day 1. Happy with this race, ended up 2nd in 4/5 and collegiate.

Was quite concerned with all of the mud and after my pre-ride and I figured I'd end up running almost all of it...I did. I think I ran 90% of the time. Started off ok and was with 2 others, then Harvard and I broke off and were on our own the rest of the race. I just had my eyes up and tried to stay as close to her as I could but she is much faster at running with a bike than I am (she's also taller than me so has a larger stride). Afterwards my toes were very very cold and started hurting immediately, got in the car and went home without even changing, perks of living 1.5 miles from the course.

Conditions were significantly worse at 12:45 when Will raced. As the announcer said "the conditions this morning were perfect compared to now" and I will tell you, the conditions were pretty rough during my race. I had fun so that's good.

Proper warm up and 2 laps around the course.

Cycling race (Cross) 34:00 [4] 5.8 mi (10.2 mph)

Northampton day 2. Much better! Ended up 7th which I'm happy with for a UCI race.

This morning I actually rode the course and rode the technical sections a couple of times. I was nervous going into this race off of yesterday. I was especially nervous about the technical, dirty, rooty downhill but just figured I would just hit it hard. Started off conservatively and was picking people off the second lap, then I was battling with one rider the last lap and dropped her in the technical section. Didn't even try to ride through the mud which was smart and I gained a lot of ground on her. I wasn't too nervous because I knew I could out ride her on the grass section before the finish but it was nice to get in front of her, especially since I was cleaner than she was in the technical stuff and she was just slowing me down. Hit the technical downhill really well all 3 laps which I was happy about. Felt strong the whole race and finished much happier than yesterday and with 5 less unnecessary wipe outs. Next race I need to get out stronger and do exactly what I did today. 3rd collegiate finisher again but I was super close to catching Harvard.
