Orienteering 5:59:50 [5] 20.0 mi (17:59 / mi) +785m 16:02 / mi

Lol that was fun. Did a 6 hour adventure race with Evalin. Super sucky maps but we navigated pretty well for the most part. Lots of crazy things happened: rescuing Evalin and carrying her across a field, swimming, crawling through culverts and under bridges, extreme rock scrambling which I'll just call "rock climbing", oh and orienteering 20 freaking miles. Ouchy. There was one adventure racing team that we kept coming across, they looked and acted legit and clearly knew what they were doing so we were kinda worried about them (there were also a few other teams that looked strong). They were moving pretty fast but we were trying to out navigate them. Right after sprinting the last few controls because time was running out we found a sandbag that you could carry to the finish for extra points. We decided to go for it. Just as we were rounding a corner toward the finish area the announcer says there's one minute left. We pushed as hard as we could and struggled to the finish chute where everyone was cheering and yelling at us to finish. Managed to finish with a few seconds left. That was intense. Ultimately the sand bag struggle was worth it because it boosted our score just enough to beat everyone. Also qualified for the National Adventure Race Championship which is awesome. Super fun day, really good teamwork with Evalin, really hope to start doing more adventure racing in the future.

Woke up with a horrible case of vertigo. First time I've ever had it and I hope I never have to deal with it again. Literally laid in bed all day.
