Running 42:13 [3]

Two of my teammates, Elina, and I went to Queensburry high school with our coach to practice on the course. That's where states is going to be this year. We drove up two and a half hours, ran with some tempo mixed into it, and then drove back.

Running race 18:43 [5] 3.0 mi (6:14 / mi)

Dear lord I broke 19!
This was quite an intense race. Our coach said he hasn't been this excited to see a group of girls race before. Suffern had to beat Pearl River, so that's what we did. Our first girl (who should have been first) had a dehydration issue and she ended up fifth. In the middle of our race I saw her and was catching up to her and that made me panic because I didn't think we'd win without her being first. There was also a mini storm in the middle of our race and it was super windy and cold and ewwww. But the fact that we were able to win without our top girl where she was supposed to be, shows how strong our team is. Pearl River was ranked 2nd in the state last week, I guess not anymore :)
Oh also this is the first time suffern girls have been county champs since 2007! Woohoo! Now it's time for all the fun races to begin.

Running warm up/down 7:21 [3] 1.0 mi (7:21 / mi)

Running 32:34 [4] 5.0 mi (6:31 / mi)

Pretty good run today. I ran with Kate and Rachel (our top two) but Kate and I pulled away from Rachel from the start. I was with Kate for a majority of the run but with about a mile and a half left she started to pull away. It wasn't a hard day where we were pushing a lot, but my time for this run was faster than before. I was happy to be able to hold my spot in front of Rachel and finish about a minute faster than her. My coach was talking to me about how I should be able to keep up with her in races. Hopefully that day comes soon for me.

A few of us went to bear mountain and ran the course there as a workout. We split it up into half mile sections and we'd run those parts at race pace and then have a rest jog for a few minutes in between.

Running race 16:01 [5] 2.5 mi (6:24 / mi)

The fact that I didn't break 16 is killing me, but I got a 20 second pr compared to last year. Anyway, manhattan invite woohoo! The biggest meet of the season with around 10,000 people running. We were in the varsity d race. We won! I came in 15th out of 201 runners. Our first girl collapsed right before the finish so instead of being 1st she came in 6th. But the fact that we still won shows we had a pretty strong race as a team. Next race is counties, I'm nervous for that.

Running race 19:21 [5] 3.0 mi (6:27 / mi)

League meet was today (it's pretty much counties except it's split into two races, one for the bigger schools and one for the smaller schools) There was literally no competition at all for me and two other girls on the team. There is too much of a gap for all three of us to run together, but we were all still ahead of everyone else. I feel like I would have gone much faster if there was someone to push me. :( oh well. I came in third so I guess that's nice because I get a plaque :)

I was so exited to race but they cancelled the races because it was too hot. 75 people had already passed out from the college races and the hospital was getting too full so the county had to shut the race down. :( I'm so mad.

Track running 20:25 [4] 3.0 mi (6:48 / mi)

I decided to name this workout the "Twilight workout" because we did it at like 5:30 after we got home from Lehigh. All on the track, two minutes at a pretty good pace and one minute hard.
