Orienteering 48:00 [3]

The terrain today was very different compared to the other days. There were a lot more rocks which made the running slow and when an area was mapped as green, they weren't joking around.

Really good race for me even though I had a few mistakes. I think a lot of other people made similar problems. Most of mine involved aiming off too much in one directing but I caught myself quickly for the most part. Number 14 at the end was my worst control. I was looking for the control in the wrong reentrant and I kept telling myself I was too far over. After a while of searching I finally followed my instinct and was completely correct. I feel like that's something I struggle with, I'm never confident enough with my navigation. But I'm very satisfied with a second place finish.
I tied my shoes up tight and was careful with my footing because my ankle was still hurting. It wasn't too bad when I was running but after my race it wasn't feeling very good. I'll have to be more careful. I also think a new pair of o-shoes would help

Started off with a mistake at number one, got to number two easily, started heading toward number three, then Evalin caught me -_- From here it was a lot of running up reentrants and running up hill. Then after that we ran up some more hills and reentrants and uhhh yeah...after a painfully slow hour and fourteen minutes I was done. Lots of contour reading and slow death-like running. I came in sixth so it wasn't too great. Oh also I rolled my ankle a bunch of times so it was in quite a bit of pain the whole night

Not my best but not my worst. There were lots of stairs which was unpleasant. I had a bunch of bobbles but no major mistakes. Ended up with a third place finish which was better than I expected since I wasn't going too fast

Orienteering race (Night o) 25:00 [3]

I dislike night orienteering very much. My first problem was my contacts were very dry so I couldn't see half the time. Despite that my controls were pretty smooth until I got to a control in a park. I had to relocate four times and I still couldn't figure out why I kept going to wrong controls. Finally I ended up at a control I had later on in the course and worked from there. Must have wasted 9 or 10 minutes on something that should have taken 45 seconds. If I had a list of all the bad mistakes I've made while orienteering, this would definitely be at the top.

Went to the airport to catch our flight at 2. It got delayed because of bad thunder storms. Finally at around 9 we got on the plane and then they decided to cancel our flight so we went to a hotel to catch a plane for the next morning.
