Note

So here's my dealio, I have a fracture in my leg which sucks really really really bad. I'm currently in a boot and use crutches :( but my bigger problem is that Saturday is national qualifier for cross country and that's the race we're been waiting for a whole year and have been training for. I'm planning on running which may or may not be a horrible idea, but I spoke with a doctor who knows all about how important this race is for us, and he said if I thought I could run and I was willing to risk it getting worse, then I can have one more race. The doctor ordered me this super strong numbing cream which will hopefully help a little or a lot. My coach isn't really keen on letting me run either but I think I've made a valid(ish) argument with him. I also told my parents that I don't really care about what they think because I've made up my mind hehehe oops :) Even though I most likely won't be running well, I think I'll be able to be in our scoring and in front of our six and seven which in my opinion is worth it. So on Saturday the boot comes off, and I'll be ready to run...and then I'll be out for about 6 weeks.

I was fairly relaxed for this race, except for the fact that I had a nightmare that my leg fell off right before we ran. But anyway, we came in third at states!!! Behind Fayetteville and Saratoga, which was kinda expected. The only minus of being in class A is having to race against the best teams in the nation. I think we handled it pretty well. So far this has been the most successful year for suffern girls xc ever! I ran decent, nothing too special, I was struggling to get out in the race. It was freezing cold outside, 37 degrees I think. My legs were kind of tight. Also when I start running my leg kills, but after a few strides it becomes more bearable. I'm trying to rest a little for Feds next Saturday, hopefully I can pull off another decent run. If we keep this up, we actually have a chance for nationals!

Ughhhhhh. I don't understand how Elina and I always get injured at the same time, and of course I've been okay the whole season and right before states something has to start bothering me. Maybe it's more of a mental thing. I don't know.

Running race 20:43 [4] 3.1 mi (6:41 / mi)

I hate Bowdoin. I felt very sluggish and tired before my race and couldn't seem to snap out of it. Not a particularly strong race for our team, but we got the job done and won our race. None of us were pushing to our fullest potential but we didn't really have to. The course was a little bit wet and muddy but nothing too bad. Hopefully when we race here at Feds and Regionals, we will all push a lot harder because that's when it will matter the most. On a more positive note, we get to go to states for the second year in a row! Yay! And so far this year Suffern is league, county, and section champs! Yipeee
