Didn't race today because of shin splints even though I was signed up for an 800. Also I'm pooped so I needed a break day. I just jogged around a bit because I wasn't sure if I was racing or not.

Besides that it was a really great course this year. Skipped number 18, but after discussing with some people, 22 may have been a good one as well. Elina managed to pull away from me at the end. We both got in lots of good navigation practice as well.

I accidentally only brought one of my sneaker to practice today. Luckily I have a bro who can drive so he brought me another pair. Unfortunate the pair of sneakers he brought me are the ones that give me blisters...so now I have blisters. The moral of the story is don't forget your sneakers.

It wasn't a very serious race because all the people were from Suffern. Even the boys ran the 1600 at the same time.

Kind of a stupid race again because it was all Suffern, and they only had one heat and there were way too many people so when the gun went off it was impossible to get in front of people.

Our mom dropped me and Elina off in one area and we did a course and met her at the parking lot at Lake Skannatati in Harriman. We did the course faster than planned even though we had to take a detour at one point. There was some dude camping and we didn't want to run right through his campsite.

4X1600. Our lead off leg was first, then I ran and kept us in first, but then we ended up being second. There was a girl from another team who ran the third leg and she was really fast and ended up having a big lead. I felt like it was an alright run for me. Not my best.

1st steeple race, it was more like a practice race. It went well, but I had a hard time pushing off the barrier after I was on it, so I'll have to practice that. Also my shins are hurting a little so I'm not sure my coach will want me to do this very often. Maybe I'll just stick to the miles.

This meet was so messed up. The wind was ridiculous! So ridiculous that they actually cancelled the 4x400s at the end. It was also freezing cold so that just made it even better. My times were alright-ish. I wasn't super happy with them but the weather definitely factored into my performance, and also everyone else's. For this race my coach wanted me to lead off the first 800 and then let people pass me if they wanted too. I listened to my coach so that made him happy and I really pushed the first 800 and was leading by a lot at some point. I ended up coming in second though but my first 800 was pretty fast.

3000. This race was horrible. My PB is like 50 seconds faster than this. But this was only a small dual meet and our coach said to treat it like a workout.
