Orienteering race 2:35:42 [4] 11.0 km (14:09 / km) +1936ft 11:10 / km

Long course Boggs Mtn. Had a little trouble getting to control one then I was real slow getting to 3. Plus I was stupid and went to 13 on my way to 3 thinking it was my control. The rest of the course went ok. I made a few route choice mistakes from 6-7 and 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Overall I kept good map contact and felt good about my navigation it's just that my pace is slow when I have to focus so much on the map. Still it was better than my last A-meet when I was over 3hrs on the long.

Orienteering race 1:16:01 [5] 5.0 km (15:12 / km) +869ft 12:01 / km

Middle @ Boggs: Had a pretty poor run today. I hit number 1 very well, but then got off on 2 somehow and had to relocate back at number 1, so I lost a lot of time on 2. Then I got upset and was in a bad mood for the rest of the race. I hit the rest of the controls pretty well. Maybe climbed a little extra than I needed from 4-5. My 2nd largest mistake was my route choice from 17-18 where I climbed an extra 25m and some really steep terrain where my speed was near zero. Otherwise I hit the controls pretty well, just slow pace to focus on the map.

Orienteering race 17:57 [5] 2.9 km (6:11 / km)

Sprint @ Spring Lake: I had a good run and felt strong for the whole course. My legs definately had a lot more speed in them. Chose a very poor route to number 8 and lost over a minute there. Then I over-ran number 14, which was a dumb rookie mistake. Other than that it was a good run for me. This was certainly more typical of COC regular events than the highly technical courses on Friday and Sat.
