Ultimate Frisbee 1:30:00 [4]

Played a few games of ultimate tonight. Everyone was a little zapped by the heat (W. WA pansies). I was a little tired from the weekend, but I just took it easy. It was fun to get out there again. It has been awhile...

Biking (MTB) 4:00:00 [3]

Rode in da Hood with the home boyz. Hit up post canyon for a little stunt practice. I like those low to the ground beginner stunts. I would have my skilz greatly imporved in no time if I could do that everyday. Got some good log rides in. Then we hit the whoopie for about 3hr or so. Great riding!!!

Second day of Big Muddy...

Orienteering long (Rogaine) 12:00:00 [3]

First day of Big Muddy. Our first loop was too short even though we cleaned most of the western map. We got back at the HH after about 8hr and took about 53min break. Should have not wasted the daylight though. Set back out on our second loop around 8:00pm trying to get a few controls before sun-down. Night nav went well and we got some of the harder controls at night. We did have a little error on 82. We approached from 70 on the 4wd track, still in the dark and we ended up loosing the track in a washout. We actually headed up the reentrant to the east, but luckily caught the error by checking realationship between the hilltops that we could kind of see in the dark. Headed up over a saddle and got back on track. Other than that it was very solid nav. Took much better care of my body this year and we started out slower which helped me a lot. Matt made a rule of no up-hill running (even on roads) which didn't seem like a good rule 1hr into the race, but was a very good rule 20hrs into the race. Was very pleased with our performance. Just need to get my feet toughened up and then we can go the distance next time.

Road Running (Trail) 2:00:38 [4] 11.5 mi (10:29 / mi)

Ran at Green with Matt. Hit up Wildcat and down Gold creek side almost to the trailhead then back up to beaver-pond trail. Good loop, but I was pretty fatigued today. I also took along my pack for some practice. Good day of training.

Orienteering 3:00:00 [2] 8.0 mi (22:30 / mi)

Setting and picking up controls. Also keeping track of the kids and finding the ones that got lost. Got some good running in, but mostly easy.

Biking (Commute) 36:29 [3] 9.2 mi (3:58 / mi)
ahr:138 max:163

Ride into work. Legs are finally feeling better today.

Biking (Commute) 36:49 [3] 9.2 mi (4:00 / mi)
ahr:144 max:159

Ride home from work. Probably was slightly faster than the AM due to waiting for a light for a couple of mins.

Road Running 36:02 [2] 5.0 mi (7:12 / mi)

Recovery run. Felt pretty slow today, but the weather was superb.

Sunday May 6, 2007 #

Road Running 1:01:32 [3] 7.6 mi (8:06 / mi)
ahr:149 max:170

Easy recovery run around Discovery. Was pretty sore from yesterday in the hip flexors and quads. Also, got some new trail runners today that I'm breaking in. Good run to work out the soreness.

Road Running (Trail/hill-climb) 1:45:00 [4] 8.0 mi (13:07 / mi)

Roger would be proud. Did a Mt. Si run this morning with Hayes and Ruri. Made it up in exactly 1hr and then back down in about 40min. Little dusting of snow up on top, but beautiful morning. We hit the Si rush hour on the way back down the trail though.

Biking (MTB) 1:15:00 [5]

Rode/hike-a-bike with Hayes and Ruri (or rather behind them) after our Si run. Ruri took us up an insane climb that goes for about 4000ft vertical. I turned around mid-way through as I was pretty much toast, but it was a great brick of training.

Road Running 32:09 [3] 4.6 mi (6:59 / mi)
ahr:161 max:178

Brisk run this evening. Felt good, prob because it's Friday and work sucks.

Thursday May 3, 2007 #

Road Running 55:19 [4] 7.7 mi (7:11 / mi)
ahr:161 max:182

Ran my regular route plus a few extra hills. I did Pioneer hill in 4:03 for 0.5mi and Lakeness in 1:50 for 0.25mi. Felt pretty strong today. Good workout. This weekend I will get some long runs in. My forerunner says I got over 2000ft of vertical in today, but I know that's way wrong.

Road Running (Trail) 1:20:58 [4] 11.0 mi (7:22 / mi)

Ran out at Green Mt. with Skilz. Felt good to get on the trails today. We ran Wildcat and turned around at the second to last road crossing before the vista. Lots of banana slugs on the trail.
