Orienteering (Vampire-O) 52:00 [2]

Easy O-ing session tonight. CJ and I did it as a team. We were doing pretty well from the start (probably had slightly over half of the controls) and then we got bit by a vampire and had to surrender our hard work. Took way too long to bite someone back. Then we got a card worse than what we had done, we got bit once again and then got a pretty good card after that. Managed to head in only missing one of the 24 controls (providing that everyone punched correctly).

Biking race (Cyclocross Race) 36:24 [5]

Crazy mud-fest race today. The course was super slick and had a huge mud-bog that you had to run through and a lot of off-camber riding which made for crash-central the whole way. I was pretty pleased with my race. I started off in the back of the start line since I haven't earned any points for the series. I took it pretty easy for the first lap and then tried to slowly work my way up for the next three laps. I had a really good last lap and passed quite a few riders to place 21st out of about 55 or so.

Moderate run up to Carceek and back. I've never been up there so I kind of made it an adventure to find the place. I stumbled on some new trails on the way, so I'll have to head back one of these days. Beautiful fall day with some slight fog. Very nice run under the changing fall leaves.

Rock Climbing (Bouldering) 1:30:00 [3]

Completed all of the V-0 routes in the gym today and then we worked on a couple V-1s. Was a pretty good workout and felt pretty good today.

Easy run around base today. Felt pretty good, but was a little tired going up the hills. Fall colors are great this year. It's the last week of daylight after work, so I have to take advantage of it.

Rock Climbing (indoor) 1:30:00 [2]

Top roped about 5 or 6 climbs today and then did a few bouldering routes after. I climbed several 5.10a today, so I'm getting back into the "winter sport routine". It was fun, but I need to get my fingers back in shape.

Easy warmup before O'ing at Ft. Casey.

Orienteering race 35:21 [4] 4.1 km (8:37 / km)

First O-meet of the season and I would best describe it as rusty. I've always seemed to struggle a little bit right at the beginning of meets until I get my bearings and then start running better. I made lots of mistakes today. Nothing was huge except #1, but it all added up for some major time lost. Also, I'm not in great shape right now, so I really have some things to work on this season. Hopefully I can fix some things in the next few meets.

Biking (road) 1:03:00 [4]

The day was just too nice to waste, so I jumped on my cross bike for a ride on the roads after I got back home from o'ing. I felt pretty strong on the bike. I threw in a few dismounts for practice for cyclocross during the middle of the ride. Overall fantastic fall day!

Easy run loop from the house. Felt pretty good today, but am really out of shape right now. Have to start getting back into it hard now.

Easy run around base after work. Felt pretty smooth and relaxed. I have to take advantage of the daylight for the last couple of weeks. I hate the dark of winter. I'm glad I don't live farther north.

Ultimate tonight, first time after my bike crash and on my bum knee. It felt pretty good, but I took it easy and didn't make any rapid cuts.
