Biking (MTB) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Red Dragon SS

Loaded the packraft on the handle bars and put the rest of the paddling gear in my pack. I rode from Chamna up through W.E. Johnson park and continuing up to the Hyde road boat launch. I got a little turned around in WEJ park, but it was my first time exploring there. It looks like it would get mega-sandy in the summer. I rode directly under a massive hornets nest hanging from a tree but thankfully no stings. Once I got up to the boat launch I inflated the raft and loaded my bike.

Paddle (packraft) 1:15:00 [3] 4.5 mi (16:40 / mi)

Put in at Hyde Rd. boat launch and paddled down to Chamna. I felt like the bike was strapped pretty well to the packraft. The handlebar was kind of getting in my way of paddling on the left side but I managed. It was a pretty easy paddle and it was just me and all of the waterfowl out on the river. The Benton City gauge was reading about 2100cfs which is about 400cfs lower than average. I thought about going another 2mi around Chamna on the river, but I decided it would be more fun to take-out at Chamna and ride the singletrack back.

Note: I've now packrafted pretty much the full Tapteal water trail from Benton City except the final few miles in the delta area. The full ~25-30mi route would be a nice bike-raft due to the big U-shape of the river (minimal biking and maximum paddling). I've also bike-rafted from Cle-Elum to Thorp. It would also be fun to do the Yakima canyon south of E-burg, but I'd have to do some research on sections between Rosa dam and Prosser.

Ride back to the In-law's via Chamna and the delta trails. I've never seen so many peeps on the trails there. It was super fun even with the loaded rig.

Biking (MTB) 1:00:00 [3]

Ride over the bridge to Chamna for some early morning playing on the trails. I got a rear flat so I lost some riding time fixing it. Got some replacement tubes on black Friday deals.

Got dropped off at Duportail on the way into town with Kid #1. We rode through Chamna on the way to the in-law's. The cold rain started coming down almost as soon as we started riding but it got really heavy towards the end. Reminded me of an infamous Poo-poo point ride with Hayes back in the day but not quite as bad as that one.

Biking (MTB) 1:45:00 [2]

Took Kid #1 out to Newberry for some riding after church. It was a great sunny cold day out. We hit all three lollipop loops. That was the furthest we've gone out there. Fun times.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Shadowed both kiddos on WIOL #2 at Hamlin Park. They did pretty well for the first time out this season. Plenty of things still to work on. I was impressed with the compass use of kid #1 for orienting the map.
3 PM

Road Running 16:30 [3] 2.0 mi (8:15 / mi)

Took the dog for a quick run up to the stop sign and back.

Biking (commute) 40:00 [3] 9.0 mi (4:27 / mi)
shoes: Red Dragon SS

Ride into work on the SS MTB. I forgot how brutal that was, but it was extra brutal this morning with my super heavy backpack. I plan on riding back home via the pump track and adventure route, so it should be worth it later.
4 PM

Biking (commute) 1:30:00 [3] 14.0 mi (6:26 / mi)
shoes: Red Dragon SS

Ride home from work via the pump track and the adventure route. I was kinda beat once I arrived the pump track so it was a short session due to tiredness and daylight but I got some good laps in.

Biking (MTB) 1:15:00 [3]

Hit the trails at Swan Creek. It was pretty fun, good mix of XC and freeride stuff. I did some of the easier jump lines. Almost crashed on one before I was about to leave so decided that was a good time to move on.

Biking (MTB) 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Red Dragon SS

Hit up 360 trails for Session #2 on the day. Did some of the perimeter XC trail and then some laps on the jump line. I hit the blue line 3 times and then back to the car via the other blue line.

Ride into work from home. Chilly
5 PM

Biking (commute) 30:00 [3] 8.0 mi (3:45 / mi)
shoes: Verdi JTS

Ride from work into downtown P'bo. It was dark and cold and quite a bite of car traffic. There must have been a wreck on the highway because it was backed up all the way through town.

Biking (commute) 20:00 [4] 7.0 mi (2:51 / mi)
shoes: Verdi JTS

Ride from work back to the shop to pick up the car. I was late leaving work and was trying to hammer to be able to get home in time for the kiddos. Got stopped behind a school bus and some lights, but ended up getting home about 1min after the kiddos.

Pump track session with the kiddos after driving back home from E. WA. I really needed to get some activity in. It was good to see quite a crowd at the track today.
