Orienteering long 2:25:50 [4] 7.7 km (18:56 / km) +1525ft 14:33 / km

Ultimate Long O at Salmon La Sac: Started off slow since I knew it was a tricky part of the map. Still had problems on #3 not figuring out the contours very well. After that I got into the map/terrain better. Other problem controls were 17 and 20. One of the trickiest legs IMO was 16-17 so I tried to be careful there. I overshot 20 and had to come back to it slowly checking off the hill-tops and even then it was hard to find the boulder. I was suprised that I beat Peteris on two long legs 11-12 and 14-15. My 20-21 split was long due to running over to the water drop and being tired. Overall, not too bad for being pretty rusty and being on a very technical map. Thanks for the courses Patrick. I really enjoyed #13.

Hike/run up to the end of the old Dosewallips road then back down to the Constance Lk. turnoff. Headed up the trail to the lake and made it up in 1:45 then short break at the lake and back down in 1:30. Short run back down the the car once back down on the road. Not much snow at the lake, but great day.

I was feeling the corn-dogs and tater-tots that I ate for dinner. It felt good to run again though.

Ride home on Verdi. Interesting commute. Rarely does bike commuting give you a time advantage over driving (at least in our area with minimal traffic), but today was different. An accident on the road allowed me to ride by the backup of traffic on the shoulder. After that I was delayed by a schoolbus stop and then further delayed by a traffic light that was tripped for the emergency vehicles, so I probably didn't save time over driving, but it probably would have been faster without the bus and long traffic light.
