12 PM

Orienteering race 7:00 [5] 0.5 km (14:00 / km)

Mistake going from 4--->5. Probably should have caught it, but my mindset was that one mistake was going to break me on that course. I ended up walking to 5 and coming in - no sense wasting energy with the red course looming.
1 PM

Orienteering race 1:26:35 [4] 5.9 km (14:41 / km)

Club Series #3 at Rotary Sunshine Camp

Lots of sloppiness, no huge mistakes though.

My o-shoes were really dirty before the meet. They are now wet, but no longer dirty.

Golf @ St. John Fisher course

Running 51:30 [3] 5.0 mi (10:18 / mi)

Great night for a run - slow-ish even for me, but there are races Sunday.

Note
(rest day)

Felt a little run down today - perhaps the consequence of bad night of sleep two nights before. As a result, it will be a rest day.

Note

Plan for rest of week:

Thu - Terrain run
Fri - Recovery/off
Sat - Probably golfing
Sun - ROC @ Rotary Camp
6 PM

Running tempo 55:00 [4] 5.65 mi (9:44 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2 -Yellow/Oran

15 min w/u
Drills
2x10 min t w/90 sec rest
3 min walk
15 min c/d

Averaged 7:56/mi and 7:49/mi for the two 10 min tempo periods. 10k in a week and a half should give me a good indicator as to whether this is too quick or just right.
7 PM

Strength 10:00 [2]

Stomach, Chest, Shoulders, Back. Hips were too tight to do any strength work on them, so I stretched them instead.

Tuesday May 29, 2012 #

10 AM

Hiking 2:30:00 [3] 5.1 mi (29:25 / mi)

Hiking with parents at Watkins Glen SP. Parked out near the group camp, walked into the park on a dirt road, took the FLT to the gorge trail which we hiked all the way down to the entrance, stopped for a break, and came back on the FLT to where we had parked.
6 PM

Running 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Running around Cobbs Hill Park, taking a look to see what the trial Urban Fit class was like. I get the idea, but not sure if it's something I want to do.

Running 36:00 [3] 3.65 mi (9:52 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2 -Yellow/Oran

Meant to go longer but had to cut it short - I was hungry, thirsty and my left shoulder was really sore. I was golfing and sleeping on a couch this weekend which contributed to the shoulder issues.

It is going to be cooler after Tuesday, so perhaps I can squeeze a long run in later this week.

Hiking 20:00 [1] 1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2 -Yellow/Oran

Hiking 20:00 [1] 1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
