Orienteering race 1:45:05 [3] 7.7 km (13:39 / km) +270m 11:37 / km
shoes: Asics

Looong drive with Rick to Holmes Presbyterian Camp in NY. Very nice weather. Not sunny when I started around 12:45pm. Sun came out midway through the course.

The terrain was hilly with lots of rocks. It was 1:5000 map and I didn't notice this at the beginning. Overshot 2nd control and it took 3 to 4 mins to find it. Bumped in to 3rd Control way too soon. At that point, I was wondering if I am running faster than usual. That can't be right !!! So checked the scale on the map. When I saw 1:5000, it all made sense.

Couple of long legs were there with lot of climb (at least it felt like a lot in my present condition). Didn't have major problems but 1 or 2 mins here and there.

Was definitely slow. All up hill was slow walk and the rest jog, walk, jog, walk...

This map is supposed to be a preview of Harriman Park (West Point). Heard that it has more rocks (some very big ones) and steeper.

Running 40:00 [3] 4.3 mi (9:18 / mi) +20m 9:10 / mi
shoes: Reebok2 - red stripe

It was a bit windy and felt chilly when I got out around 5PM. But it was very bright and sunny so after 2 or 3 mins in to the run, it started to feel great!

My left ankle started to ache during the second half of the run. I think the extra pounds are putting more pressure on the legs!!

Route with splits: Station - Front - Heller Town Ave - Heller Rd - (1928) Walnut Bank Farm - little bike path - (915)E Mill - 4th - W Broad - Front - Station(1125)

Running 20:00 [3] 2.1 mi (9:31 / mi) +15m 9:19 / mi
shoes: Reebok2 - red stripe

Very nice weather. Headed out at 6PM. Wanted to go for a long run, but cut it short as right foot is still paining a bit from the twisting happened at Wheaton.
