Orienteering race (Darnley Estate) 1:14:27 [4] *** 12.47 km (5:58 / km) +315m 5:18 / km

DFOK regional, the start was 15mins late because the start control was broken. First 3 were pretty simple in the park, #4 I wasted a little time as I hadn't pre planned it and so ran passed a junction and had to double back. #9 I should have run down to the crossing point instead of fighting my way through the brambles and over the barbed wire fence. #12 Should have turned right and took the path around but missed it and fought through the brambles. #13 A little off the bearing but knew I'd gone to the left so didn't waste too much time. #25 fought through a brambly fence but got a little confused as the paths didn't really resemble the map, only a few seconds wasted though. #26 got distracted even though I knew I was right if I'd continued straight on, and wouldn't have wasted any time at all.

Pleased with my run overall, less than 3 mins wasted an feeling good running (for the first time since before xmas!) 11.1km 245m

First park run, really enjoyed it despite the rain and slow course due to slippy corners and bridges. Glad with my performance though

KNC14/Sonic at Tilgate. A simple go get them all score with 20 controls, 10 in the park and 10 on the roads. I'm still not up to full pace I'd say 85% and it was my first time with my right handed thumb compass. I quickly realised I'd have to swap my dibber to the left hand and after this happened I only had to deal with a the normal running issues like a stitch a tight neck and a blister forming. Excited about potentially doing my first park run on Saturday and then the DFOK regional!
