Orienteering race (Sandringham) 42:10 [4] *** 7.23 km (5:50 / km) +183m 5:11 / km
spiked:15/21c shoes: Integrators

Jircs relay. M18's go last as always started off about 4 mins behind Chris and with Alex a bit further behind me. 3 wasn't too great as I took a poor route choice resulting in a waste of about 90secs. As of the day before it was simple path running and so wasn't all that challenging apart from the bracken! 7 went wrong again around the totem poles, not sure why I found this one so hard on both days! Ended up re-locating about 100m North of it! I lost my way on the way to 11 as the OOB road put me off and so i ended up a little in the forest to the South of the paths about 15secs. Ran around with Dane Blomquist for the majority of the course before overtaking him at 17 and then catching up Alex McCann for the last bit. Number 18 (i think) caused some more trouble as the high ferns made it difficult to see the re-entrant. Good race and a good weekend overall! :) can't wait for Wales! 15/21 5.9km 80m

Orienteering race 1:19:22 [4] **** 12.68 km (6:16 / km) +203m 5:48 / km
spiked:22/29c shoes: Integrators

Was quite nervous just before the race as I knew that the bracken was going to make things difficult and also the competition is always going to be good! Started off the race in a slow manner, ticking things off as I went along. I sped up after 5 and continued making good progress. Small blip at 13 as the bush was much smaller than anticipated. Poor route to 14 due to the bracken and then smashed my knee so had to stop for a couple of mins :(
MAJOR error at 23: Didn't choose an attackpoint, didn't use an attackpoint, didn't have a catching feature, epic failure basically! found it after 4 mins of wandering :L (10km 120m)

Did this instead of intervals as it was extremely wet underfoot and so wouldn't have gained much.

Orienteering race (Pembury SE) 58:36 [3] ** 8.04 km (7:17 / km) +235m 6:22 / km
spiked:23/28c shoes: Integrators

Final KOL, not expecting it to be the best of maps as it's really out of date and because it's a KOL. I wasn't wrong! Most the vegetation was wrong and one of the controls was in completely the wrong place. Due to my lack of enthusiasm I wasn't concentrating and mispunched. There's a reason I go to SEJS and not KOL's! (6.3km)

spiked:17/19c shoes: Inov Mudroc 290

60 min score on the last day of the SE Jubilee festival. Didn't realise there were control behind me and missing the obvious first control, I set off towards what would have ideally been my 4th control! This resulted in a long 7minute leg down the map and then a 10 min leg back up again! from then on it all went well and a round of applause to Beth for showing Rich and I how to do a score properly! (7.5km(ish))

Orienteering race (Leith Hill) 50:28 [4] **** 6.68 km (7:33 / km) +165m 6:43 / km
spiked:21/25c shoes: Integrators

3rd day of the SE Jubilee festival. Took the first control slowly to get into the 1:7500 map, and used the contrours well for number 2. All well until number 12, didn't go to my attack point and so went in too early and so wasted about a minute, saw my catching feature and so found the control. 13 was also a little poor, too far south and so wasted another minute. Wasn't confident enough on 14 and so I wasted about 15secs. Number 19 was the biggest error of them all, about 7 mins wasted here! :o Didn't have a plan and so just ran off blindly, got to the large path but didn't look hared enough to find my position, ran around blindly and the relocated by running all the way to 16!. (5.0km 240m)

Orienteering race (Oldhouse Warren) 1:21:12 [4] *** 12.96 km (6:16 / km) +329m 5:34 / km
spiked:23/25c shoes: Integrators

SE Jubille Festival event 2. Due to a torrential night of rain it was all very muddy. I was in quite a good mood after the success of yesterday and was looking forward to it. Started 4 mins behind Richard and 8 mins behind Chris but I never saw either of them at any point. Made my largest error at number 9 due to a poor attack point and consequently didn't spike it at all. The only other error was at number 10 when i didn't check what i was looking for and so made a slight error costing me about 20secs. (10.9km 265m)

Orienteering race 19:15 [4] **** 3.9 km (4:56 / km) +55m 4:37 / km
shoes: Asics Gel 1160

SE Jubilee festival day 1. Arrived just in time to get to the last start because of some awful traffic. Wasn't entirely prepared for the race due to the rush but just wanted to do my best, taking it slowly went around the course without too much drama. Was over the moon when I found out I was only 2secs off the pace!

Orienteering race (Uni of Surrey) 19:23 [4] **** 3.71 km (5:13 / km) +69m 4:47 / km
spiked:16/20c shoes: Asics Gel 1160

Second race of the sprint day. Felt the pressure building up because of my second place in the morning. I did my best to not let it get to me but unfortunately it was in vain. Number 1 was a little poor as i took it too fast without reading the map, took a poor route to 4. 15 was a major time waste (30secs) as i took a very long route, and then 16 as well. Went down from 2nd to 5th overall however still did well enough to gain silver in the South East :) (2.3km 65m)
