M20E - Course 2, 7.8km with 315m climb
Didn't take Garmin so don't know what I ran.
Reasonable race. Relatively clean but not running too fast. The finer contour detail was quite hard to read at 1:15 (although easier than what it could have been apparently), so in general I found myself leaving controls on a compass bearing and ignoring most detail until I got to a fairly prominent attackpoint and orienteered into the control from there.
Bit of a hesitation coming into 2, hitting the bottom of the re-entrant, and worrying because I couldn't see the control. Saw it as a ran up the re-entrant.
Also a mistake on 5 when I probably didn't take the best route to start off with (veering too close to the lake) and then struggling to navigate the final part of the leg into the control. Think I lost ~2 mins compared to ColmM on this leg.
Also small bit of messing around for control 6 going to the wrong bolder cluster first.
The last few controls on the mountain (7-10) were fine. I chose to go around rather than straight to control 8. ColmM went straight at only gained a few seconds on me.
Controls in the forest were fun although rough. Got 'em fine.
