running drills 17:21 [2] 0.75 mi (23:08 / mi)
shoes: New Mizuno wave riders

Hammond Pond! First I walked the tempo loop, and then I did a bunch of drills. Fun!

It was a nice break from the rest of my day, which consisted of sitting on the couch, reading a bunch of abstracts, and self-consciously writing my CV from [almost] scratch.

On the terrain loop, I found a nice place to do some reading once it stops raining:)

Iron (Steak:)) 2 [0]

Had grass-fed meat for the first time! I complain all the time about cooking meat, but I just put it on the stove with oil, rosemary, and garlic, and it took like 10 minutes:) I guess the trick is remembering to set it out to thaw.

I decided my goal for the coming year is to eat more beef, so I also went to the grocery store and got beef patties. They have tons of fat, but also 5x as much iron as the chicken breasts that were my alternative.

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

Decided I might be tired because the sun keeps waking me up so early. Will put the extra drapes back on my windows tonight.

Running (mostly hard surfaces) 19:00 [3] 2.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: New Mizuno wave riders

Didn't feel so great. The last time I was tired and kept running, I was reeeeeally tired the next day, so I stopped and walked back. Sigh. I think it's time for my season break. Even if my volume wasn't high for the entire season, my effort was, so it's pretty reasonable to rest. For me, a season break usually means jogging 30 minutes every other day, but because I'm *actually* a bit run down, I'll do what I did in high school and take it almost completely off.

This is probably not the cause, but the inexplicable tiredness reminds me that it might be a good idea to check up on my iron. I think my doctor's office does appointments starting at 6:30 am, so that would be convenient.
