Route 52 to Sam's Point on the SRT.

Ran the first 2-3 miles mostly down hill. Twinged my hamstring towards the end of the run. Hurt for a while on the climb, but it declined in intensity as time went on. May not be a serious issue.

Just when I thought the climb section wasn't too bad, I hit the nasty uphill, sidehill part on the slippery oak leaves. Didn't last as long as I expected.

Arriving at Sam's Point, I followed the trail up to the closed section resulting from last year's fire. The pitch pines are starting to regenerate, but the ground vegetation still looks pretty damn dead. Park didn't know when the closed section would be reopened. Will skip ahead to the Minnewaska sections next week.

Both knee and back hurt quite a bit afterwards. Iced the knee. May be off tomorrow.
