SRT from Ferguson Road to Route 52 above Ellenburg.
Started out mostly cloudy and cool. Gradually warmed up and got sunnier. With the winds whipping over the ridge, I was glad I brought the windbreaker.
Actually ran for around 2.5 miles with no pain in the knee. Didn't start to hurt until around 9 miles, but this section turned out to be less demanding than the last one.
This was the first section that actually felt like the Gunks, with their distinctive rock chimneys and multiple "lemon squeezers". Trail went along the upper part of the escarpment for quite some time. Some great views to both the north and south.
Up next week is the big climb up to Sam's Point. Weather looks to be better then.
