MBO course in Stenholt Vang, just up the road from Jamie's - did the 1st (easy) half, then left the complicated part for another day. Took the easier (faster) tracks which meant a bit of back-tracking. Turning the bike is slow, though, so what is faster?

Going round the children's course at Danish Spring carrying Scott in the backpack. Jamie commentating for the day's race - a new format of a mass start middle race, gaffled. The refurbished Spring Cup seemed to be bringing in more entries than the last few years.

From Falkirk along Union Canal westwards to Falkirk Wheel. Watched a passenger barge being swung down to the Forth & Clyde Canal - impressive engineering. Then back eastwards to Linlithgow, through the 650m tunnel (wet & dim). All flat as the canal follows the contour line and has no locks. Nice walk.

Up town then out by Canal/Water of Leith to Colinton. Then over N Pentlands from Bonaly to Hillend. It was downhill so carried on walking to Bruntsfield when I jumped on a bus to the West End. Finished by walking down to the house. Nice day, looking out over the Lothians in sunshine.
