Orienteering (SummerSeries) 57:58 [4] 10.46 km (5:33 / km) +173m 5:07 / km
ahr:157 max:169 shoes: New Balance

wanted to do a inner + outer loop, just for the fun of it, I was expecting it to be a little further than the ideal (also hoping to reduce a little climb)

had a stressful day and didn't eat well, so wasn't expecting too much, was happy with the run.

running (training run) 31:27 [5] 6.22 km (5:03 / km) +93m 4:42 / km
ahr:163 max:175 shoes: New Balance

lunchtime run, felt much better/faster - probably because i had brekfast :)

10 AM

Orienteering race (Metro 1) 35:53 [5] 4.77 km (7:31 / km) +82m 6:56 / km
ahr:166 max:180 shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 333

Had an ok run,
1 was ok .
missed 2 high, was not 100% sure, went back and recognised the gullies, still getting used to the scale.
missed 3 20m to the left
aimed to the left to 5 but probably a little too far (100m ?)
4,6,7,8,9,10,11 were pretty good

12, got confused with track near fence, was probably a watercourse, went back before I got to control
a little slow through the gully to the track to 13
11 AM

Orienteering (warm down) 1:00:00 [3] 2.94 km (20:24 / km)
ahr:94 max:142 shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 333

went for a walk/jog to find my Mum and Lachlan who did the easy course, they were gone for over 1 hr and I waned to make sure they were ok ..

they were fine but slow since they had a "snack" stop at each control and a picnic lunch at control 5 :)

11 AM

running (lunch run) 55:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:07 / km)
shoes: BrooksVapor 10

missed yesterdays summer series run, so thought i'd go today to make up for it ..
not a good run .. no brekfast so not much energy ..
GPS died after about 1.5km
music died after about 30 mins
and me somewhere inbetween - I walked too many hills and foot started to ache towards the end .. but still better than doing nothing I guess
12 PM

GYM (Aqua) (Aqua) 50:00 [3]

felt much better in the pool, hadn't been to the gym for a while

Sunday Mar 17, 2013 #

9 AM

Orienteering (SL2) 1:37:10 [5] 12.91 km (7:32 / km)
ahr:158 max:183 shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 333

felt much better running today.
slight pause near 4, West track to 5
tried to cross river to 9, but chickened out and went around
go caught with some blackberries to 12 and ended up with a detour around the bottom of the small fenced off area
went W of 14, saw the track and mistook it for another .. silly error on what looked like an easy section
crossed river at yellow section below 17 on the way to 16 with wet feet, but no green
went down from 18 to bottom of watercourse then up hill to 19, almost to track
from 19 - drinks near 9 then to 20, almost ran too far on track below

pretty happy with the run.not sure how time was compared to others.

GPS data got wiped thanks to the 4hr recording it took on the way home (it keep the last 3hrs40min of data points) have distance/hr/lap times

12 PM

Orienteering race (warm up) 8:57 [5] 1.32 km (6:47 / km)
ahr:158 max:168 shoes: Inov-8 Oroc 340

warm up = was running late to start
wanted to start early so I could go around again with family on easy course .. but left home too late, got Wife to drive from Lithgow so i could get geared up, hopped out of car and straight to start
ran to drinks (had a sip) - note this included my best 1km split for the whole weekend of 5:07
walked up hill
traversed the pre start area as quick as I could, got to map at the fist beep .. only forgot my control descriptions holder!
1 PM

Orienteering race (SL1) 1:03:50 [5] 5.63 km (11:20 / km)
ahr:164 max:174 shoes: Inov-8 Oroc 340

slow and steady run,
navigation was decent, but was tired - the run to the start took it's toll
struggled through the hills and thick stuff.

lost a little time high on 7, lost a little on 20
3 PM

Orienteering (easy) 1:35:00 [1] 4.0 km (23:45 / km)
shoes: New Balance

followed family on easy course, long walk to start - pretty challenging course for easy.

4 PM

Orienteering race (SummerSeries 25) 50:41 [4] 7.68 km (6:36 / km)
ahr:157 max:169 shoes: New Balance

took it easy (final ultimate afterwards)
didn't have time to get the lot ..

was happy with most of the run, overran 2 controls .. took a little longer to get to finish from last control ..
5 PM

Ultimate race (Hills Div 2 final) 1:00:00 [5] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)
max:183 shoes: Asics Gel Lethal Elite 4

started with a 4-0 lead

then lost next 5 points

game was within 1 point for rest ..

9-all and final siren went with our possesion ..

threw hammer to back corner of endzone for a win ..

11 AM

Duo race (duo - belangalo) 3:16:00 [5] 37.0 km (5:18 / km) +333m 5:04 / km
ahr:157 max:172 shoes: New Balance

first foot stage was ok, a couple of minutes lost here and there ..

chose to go opposite direction to what I expected others to go (anticlockwise) so there was more chance of passing people rather than overtaking.

first bike was ok, missed one control - didn't see it , got to next track junction and had to backtrack.

second foot was difficult on legs - not use to cycling, let alone cycling then running!!! - went pretty smooth through foot stages

second bike was better - but still lost lots of time compared to the others.

last stage took the bike to the track junction, grabbed 2 controls, rode to the gully and grabbed the last back on the bike (accidently stopped GPS) then 300 m from the finish both quads cramped up badly, had to jump off bike and roll on the ground, using my arm to grab my gaitors to bend my leg, tried to get up after about 30 seconds and same thing .. lost about 3 minutes .. took it slowly to the finish ..

had a great time :)

6 PM

Orienteering (SummerSeries 24) 1:00:56 [3] 10.97 km (5:33 / km) +122m 5:16 / km
ahr:162 max:171 shoes: New Balance

didn't feel too bad, planned to take it easyish (semi finals frisbee that night) but still went at a reasonable pace
wanted to get the lot as hadn't had the opportunity in previous weeks, just had enough time to do that and get to castle hill for start of Ultimate game
7 PM

Ultimate (Hills Div 2) 1:00:00 [3] 4.16 km (14:25 / km)
ahr:147 max:181 shoes: Asics Gel Lethal Elite 4

worked hard .. we won 12-4

we were close to not making the semis a few weeks ago - glad to get a good win to make the final

Ultimate (Hills Div 1) 1:00:00 [3] 3.73 km (16:05 / km)
ahr:143 max:177 shoes: Asics Gel Lethal Elite 4

a little bit tired from run and div 2
didn't win .. but was not expecting to, fun game though
opposition just a little too strong

6 PM

Orienteering race (minigaine) 2:57:58 [5] 23.49 km (7:35 / km) +605m 6:43 / km
ahr:159 max:175 shoes: New Balance MT411GB

went south ..
started with a nice pace.
distracted 1/3 way when home alarm rang .. spoke to wife on phone fore 5-10 mins
caught up with Lachlan and my mum at 2/3 of the way .. another 5-10 min delay

stared cramping at 1 km to go with 10 minutes, quads would not work .. had to stop and stretch finished with 2 mins up my sleeve :)

was hoping for 25-30 km .. may have got 25km with out the distractions .. but they also made it much more fun :)
