Ultimate race (Nationals) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Lethal Elite 4

Nationals Ultimate in Newcastle
day 4 of 4
1 games, 1 win
win: 9 - 7 against HOS White (MEL)
was sill a little tipsy from the party but still ran and played hard
found running and throwing to be ok, but had no idea about reading the disc in the air, after letting a few go overhead, not sure if it was the strong breeze or the alcohol still in the blood (did get a lift to the fields).
close game with us trailing around the 5's and 6's
so took a few subs at the middle when the game was getting close, figured the sober guys can handle it, was called on for the last point so ran hard

final position 11th of 16 (our seed was 16)

started to feel a bit tired during the drive home, spend most of the afternoon in resting bed, with an early night and sleep in !!

Playoff Quaters for positions 9-16
Nationals Ultimate in Newcastle
day 3 of 4
2 games, 1 win and 1 loss
win: 14 - 6 against Karma (SA) (up 7-nil)
late start and I grabbed some new cleats (newer model of yesterdays cleats which are covered in mud, and after 2-3 years of service are ready for the bin)
very strong cross field breeze gave a higher than normal turnovers, most of these were from Karma in the first 7 points giving us a nice lead, we made a few errors but were able to get the disc back and capitalised on most of their errors.
took the half 8-2, but we never looked like letting them back in, our team played very well and deserved the win, puts us in the 9-12 bracket

loss: 15 - 6 against Wombat (masters)
had to move fields, our last game went to time cap and had to play a while after the hooter went, arrived at the fields to play on just as the starting hooter went, didn't get any time to prepare and was very flat for the first few points. (me and most of the rest of the team)
went better after the first half but couldn't match them, strong down field breeze suited them better, but enjoyed the second half.

Ultimate race (Nationals) 2:00:00 [3]

Nationals Ultimate in Newcastle
day 2 of 4
2 games, 1 win and 1 loss
loss: 13 - 11 against Chilly (VIC) (down by 6 or 7 at the half)
slight back strain after turning and jumping awkwardly early in the first half left me a little cautious for the rest of the game. played a few points less but survived ok, a game we could have won if we didn't give them such a head start.

got a massage from the physio between games which totally fixed up my back :D

win: 15 - 10 against Bench (SYD)
a game out team wanted to win the most (after a loss in regionals almost put us out of nationals)
we struggled early with their zone but we were able to improve throughout the game, I played a few more points than other games, made easier with playing a handler against their zone, played mainly offence since my dry weather cleats were struggling for grip when playing defence.

Ultimate race (Nationals ) 3:00:00 [4]

Nationals Ultimate in Newcastle
day 1 of 4
3 games, 3 losses
15 - 12 against sublime (WA) - corked quad in first point + strained tendon in foot in first half, but ok to play (Had a physio at the fields, so a quick strap and suggestion to change shoes and didn't miss much)
traded to 9 all, then lost 3 in a row and traded till the finish, close game.
15 - 9 against Colony (SYD) - team played well against a much stronger opponent, it was a fun game.
15 - 6 against NZ - I felt I played better in this game, unfortunately our team didn't, I ran hard most of the day but needed a more points off for recovery than I would have liked. used my dry weather cleats and they felt much better for my foot.

sore quad for 5-10 mins .. seemed to get better (probably from the ride on Sun)
had some trouble crossing a creek (many attepts to find a way through) and getting through green, didn't see the path on the map which would have avoided this (added 600m in 7 mins)
the rest of the run wasn't too bad.
