JWOC summary- didn't quite go as I would have liked it to. Reasonably happy with my runs in the Sprint and Relay, but pretty dissapointed with the Long and Middle distances. I seem to have the physical ability to do well in JWOC, but not the technical skills- something I really need to work on. I can do well in areas where navigation is simple, but as soon as it gets a bit harder I seem to struggle and make way too many big mistakes. Hopefully I'll be able to improve on this for future JWOC's.

Relay- 1st leg. Finally had a decentish race. Pretty clean run with only 1 major nav error (1min) and 1 bad routechoice, but then also lost over a minute at the 3rd control trying to punch it (kept getting pushed out the way). Finished 3 min back on 1st place, so pretty happy with that, but if I hadn't lost so much time at #3 I think I could have held on to the leading group.

With Nitsan and Michael. Went about 3/4 of the way up the mountain (about 2500m asl) before having to turn around. Decided to be lazy on the way down and rode the ski lift the last half.

Middle final. Good besides for 1 control, which made it shocking. Couldn't find #2, and after searching for ages, just carried on with the course, so dsq.

JWOC Long. Had a pretty crappy race- area was pretty technical, but still shouldnt have made nearly so many mistakes. Lost over 15min (mainly on #2 ( 4min) , #9 (3min) , #16 (2min), #18(4min). 94/163. Winner did 75min.

JWOC sprint. Decentish race, no big errors, but made quite a few small mistakes and non-optimal route choices which cost me nearly a minute (mainly on #1, #8, #9, #10, #12, #15, #16, #17). Should have gone under 16min which would have given me a pretty good result. Anyway- still a lot better than last year. 84/161

Jog to the relay map and then did the controls on the model map, then took a jog back.
