Caribou Mountain in Evans Notch. With Florence, Addie, Glenn, Lincoln, Carina, and Lance. Chasing Rob and Veronica whom we met on the summit. Up Caribou trail and down Mud Brook trail (clockwise). This seems inferior to the other direction, which I've always done in the past. Mud Brook trail gets you out on the ledges early. But the Caribou side has some nice little waterfalls on the way up.

Rumford Whitecap with Addie, Glenn, Rob, Veronica, Carina, Lincoln, and Lance! This was both an opportunity to pick blueberries and a fine hike by itself. Up the Orange Trail and down the Yellow Trail.
The blueberries were out in enormous quantities. It turns out we started picking too low down, because they got bigger and more plentiful higher up. Our little subgroup got more than a gallon. It was clear and sunny, and there were great views all around from the top.
I had forgotten to bring a hat, and I got my head all slicked up with sunscreen, but then an abandoned hat appeared on the ground just as we got out on the ledges (a nice one, Outdoor Research with permethrin) and I wore it all day and brought it back home.
The blueberries are sweet and intense. Addie made a fine blueberry pie. We have enough for about 6 more.
