Sugarloaf Mountain rogaine. New map and course by Michael Dickey. This was a really fine summer series event. 25 controls, 6-hour time limit, in an enormous area (2 sheets of 11x17 at 1:15000). It's steep and rocky, with a lot of good woods and some areas of stiltgrass and mile-a-minute weed. I made mistakes early when I was getting my head into it, and late when I was tired. In between I went pretty well. Some trouble with a couple of the charcoal platforms, and in two areas where I shouldn't have trusted the trails. I got 22 out of 25 controls in 5.5 hours, and a real sweaty workout besides. Carried 2.5 liters of water and 4 Gu packets, and came back empty.
