orienteering race (U.S. Ultralong course) 1:57:01 [3] 3.9 mi (30:00 / mi) +140m 27:00 / mi

First I want to say that in the past the white, yellow and orange courses did not have long courses. My children never did them when they were growing up and I feel we still don't need long courses on beginner courses.
Parts of this course were ok and other parts were down right dangerous in my book. Between #13 -14 Sending white runners on a trail that is RIGHT on the edge of a 100-150 meter drop to the river is just asking for trouble. Then this trail goes almost straightdown and was a slip and slide all of the way. I have never been so scared on an orienteering course in my life. If I had fallen who was to say that I would not have gone over the cliff down to the river. By the time (which was long) I got down to the bottom my knees were so locked that it took me a few minutes to get them to work right again. I was amazed to see how high the river was when I got out to the road between 8 - 9; a good part of the map was under water at that point. Looking down where the road was I could see a road sign sticking up above the water which was quite surprising to see. Then at #9 as I punched I could see a roof of a building sticking out of the water over there. I wish I had had a camera to take some pictures. I did the course and I'm glad that I finished. Did I like, hell no!

orienteering race (sprint 1) 30:35 [5] 1.6 mi (19:07 / mi) +20m 18:24 / mi

a great course. I have a great time and really enjoyed the challenge of making sure that I was on the right side of the buildings.

orienteering race (Sprint 2) 39:49 [5] 1.6 mi (24:53 / mi) +40m 23:05 / mi

This sprint was not as much fun. The muddy trails were harder to navigate and took more time. I also allowed myself to be distracted by a man in a hunting stand(no names being used here) and went into the wrong field which costed me some time.
