Note
(sick)

just to note still got this chesty cough. can't think the weekend did it much good, but I seem to have got away with being out in the cold for a long time.

Loch Lochy Munroes (2)

Forecast didn't disappoint - an absolute belter of a day. on the hill by 8am to make the most of it. Still wind even on the very tops and fantastic views all round. Seemed to be less snow on these hills vs yesterday (although still little overall), but it was frozen above c500m in the morning. no major diffulties as the paths were like motorways. Looking forward to more days like these.

Body wise - no real issues from achilles, but paths much better today.

Glenfinnan munroes (2)

Faffing and groggy from Fri nights enjoyment in Stirling, so I knew I'd be finishing this in the dark. Quite a rough path up Sgurr nan Coreachan made progress relatively slow and I hit the top as sun was setting. Desolate on the hill as expected so was contemplating whether an icy ridge traverse was sensible in fading light. A very wide ridge so no real danger of doing anything too silly so cracked on. The ridge was completely frozen for the length, so glad for spikes but never needed the axe. A real drag up to the second Munro (forgot how tough snow can be), not helped by illness, but some great stargazing to be had now it was proper dark. Could see Fort William twinkling in the distance, but no other lights. Great to have the hills to myself.

Bodywise - R Achilles felt quite sore on first climb and once I'd finished. Seems to feel like it seizes up in the cold.

Cycling 14:29 [2] 5.24 km (21.7 kph)

back down. loads of stags out. thankfully none took an interest in me. saw a fox who outpaced me on the road downhill (he must have been doing at least 20mph).

feeling pretty ill for last 5 days (headache and picking up a chest infection) bit achilles seems to be ok.
