Note
(injured)

not much to report. achilles still quite stiff and taking it very easy. went for a 1km or so walk round Alva glen which was nice, if a bit slow. otherwise doing chores and watching TdF and trying to sit rather than stand, and lie rather than sit.

Had a punt at going to the minor injuries clinic per physios suggestion to see if I could get a scan out of them. I turned up at the wrong hospital though (drove to Royal Forth Valley rather than going to Stirling hospital doh!), but managed to wing an appointment at A&E. Doc agreed that the Achilles wasn't completely ruptured (thanks for confirming) but I need to go via GP to be referred if I can get a scan, they would only do something there and then if my achilles was in two pieces. bit of a waste of all our times so a bit frustrating, will try not to rant........

going to see private sports doc next Friday. in the meantime rest and ice, and probably don't plan to ride 180km and 3500m climb. boo.

on the flip side, I now have lots of time to watch the TdF and catch up on all the chores I've been avoiding for the last 6 months.

I am walking OKish, but with a bit of a self-imposed limp now I'm worried about it. Spent a bit of the day horizontal which probably helped, and managed to stumble up the monument from the car park.

Physio Fri. Two chaps both had a good feel and they think there is a chance there is a partial tear of the tendon given the width of the achilles seems to significantly narrow part way up. I'm not completely convinced with this diagnosis given I didn't experience a sharp pain, but a scan will tell....

Note

test run didn't go amazingly yesterday, could get up OKish on the steep terrain, but achilles was quite sore afterwards. foot generally sore today too. saunders just too far and now focusing efforts to recover and try to get round the etape.

my achilles was quite swollen on R foot this evening so will see if I can get into a physio pronto.
