Red course at Sessions Woods (WCOC local event). Still adjusting to New England terrain and mapping styles:
1. Yellow was really rough open (brambles) and should be avoided
2. Green not always easy to distinguish - use other features
3. Half contour hill at #6 totally different than I expected
4. Small linear trails on the map might have a lot of small squiggles (because of mt bikers), so sometimes easier to just ignore them altogether

So more experience needed in this type of terrain, but where things made sense to me, I orienteered well. I was really pleased with #9-finish. :)

Orienteering with Boris at Trout Brook. Started off with a line-O on the southwest part of the map, which had lots of fallen trees and some steep hills, and then did a roughly 5km course in the nicer central section. I was moving really slowly sometimes, trying to match things up, and Boris and I stopped often to talk about certain features. Good training!
