9.07 km on a 8.2km course - 110%
A long red course with lots of controls. Nothing too difficult so it was a nice way to end the year. Only off on one control but I was a little tentative most of the way as I wanted to do better on navigation. The limiting factor on this for me was my conditioning. I just didn't have the energy to push harder but I'm happy with my sub 8.5 min/km pace.
Two road crossing where up to 60 seconds would be deducted from time. Somehow I spent 86 second on the first crossing despite checking my watch at both controls. I did chew up a bunch of time trying to get a jug of water open. I just could not pull the tab off with my partially sweaty fingers. Then I had to open the bag of cups. (disadvantages to running early)
Overall, a very nice course that zig zaged all over them map....
And when will I get to orienteer again mid December in PA with 70 degree temperatures :)
