Green Course 6.74 on a 5.9km = 114%
Had a bad start with the realization that a thorn was poking into the center of my left heal 1/3 the way to #1. I did the rest of the leg not coming down on my heal. I messed up my attack to 1 and decided to take the time to remove the thorn.
Barely beat Petr to #3 and was behind him all the way to 4. After watching an orienteering video last night, it was depressing not to be able to run to #4 (slightly uphill and over 1km) The movies make it look so easy. I lost Petr right at the 4th control and went into the green a bit this let Mihai and Tom O past me. 5 was downhill and I kept up. 6 was longer but mostly on contour. The 3 of us were kind of chasing Petr. I had a good attack and saw the control from far off but was last to punch.

I expected to see Tom take off up the hill to 7 but he didnt. I ended up staying with him to the AP of 11, not so much following but he was my confidence that my choices were correct. I was looking for a place I could at least attack better and get to a control first but it didnt happen.

Tom put the afterburners on to 12 and that was the end of the cat & mouse. Nice course, great day and I enjoyed navigating with Tom. (Lucky for me he wore himself down in a race yesterday)
