combined cycling of o-event and control pickup
10 AM

Orienteering 11:34 [3] 1.5 km (7:43 / km)
ahr:150 max:174 shoes: NB-Vibram1520

advanced loop of the cycle/orienteering course approx 1.2km. And yes, o-shoes make a difference. I was well aware I was not wearing them.
1 PM

Orienteering 18:56 [3] 3.5 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:160 max:177 shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

sprint. fun, 3 loop race.
Overran one control (first on C leg) and had to double back.
Then thought I was done when I punched hub control for the third time. Lucky Angelica was behind me and asked/commented that this was not the end...crap :( because my body was telling me it was the end :)

Orienteering 39:51 [3] 5.11 km (7:48 / km)
ahr:159 max:180 shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

5.11km on a 4.5km green - 114% good but could have been better.

Coming off a 17 hour drive from Florida. Didn't know how this would really play out. On top of that, the legs were not nearly recovered from the week's activities. overall, I'm happy with the run. no major errors. The first control was my worst but I got my head together after that. I was seriously thinking I should have run Brown at that point.

Pickelball 2:00:00 [3]
(injured)

Pickelball - great fun but I over extended my backhand several times and by the third time it was over done. Now I have a reinjury from two years ago but not quite as sever.
I wish I would have reviewed my injury reports as this was a repeat of what I did 2 years ago.
12 PM

Swimming 24:00 [3] 0.5 mi (47:59 / mi)

Cyprus cove after elbow injury - virtually no power in right arm.
7 PM

Pickelball 1:00:00 [3]

More pickelball. Used my elbow brace which I forgot I had with me.
NOTE TO SELF : do not play racquet sports without an elbow brace.

Orienteering 1:15:40 [3] 7.95 km (9:31 / km) +160m 8:39 / km
ahr:161 max:177 shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

7.95kn on 6km green - 132% (amazing considering I had to run back to start after ctrl 10)

Zac, I feel bad for you. I loved the Green course right up to the point where the campsite Gestapo rerouted me back to start. I feel pretty good that my time from Green 10 to start and then to 11 was just over 12 minutes. However, I learned another valuable lesson, (you need to protect your mental focus) I spent over 12 minutes getting to the next control (12) and that was purely unfocused and running through my mind what a bunch of pricks some people can be.
I felt like I had a very good run going through #10 at just over 30 minutes I was shooting for 50 minutes total. I would have definitely been under 60.
I was also under the weather and ran green to keep it shorter (ha!) I just didn't have the physical or mental power to push on the last third after all the extra expended effort. I knew it wouldn't count but I wanted to do well anyway.
I cant wait to put my route into RG :)

Orienteering 56:20 [3] 6.73 km (8:22 / km) +120m 7:41 / km
ahr:160 max:177 shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

6.73km on 4.9km Green - 137% (sloppy)

Overran the first control before realizing it was a 5000 map. This is what happens when you rush. Also got too caught up with the elephant trails instead of reading the map.
