Core 5:00 [2]

Study break Sworkit

Busy weekend up at the cottage building tons of IKEA cabinets for the kitchen.
My hands took a good beating, but now my grip strength has improved by a lot!
I inevitably woke up with sore shoulders and back from lifting all day, but also sore quads from sitting down and standing up all day long!

Stretching 15:00 [1]

9 AM

Track race (Steeplechase ) 5:25 [5] 1.5 km (3:37 / km)

So, classic Hamilton city meet steeplechase madness...
Got to the track at 8, and saw the city truck filling up the water pit-great! They left, and we went over to check out the water... It was only 2/3 full. Our coach called it not race acceptable so they decided to run the hurdles before us to see if the city would come back to refill. They didn't.
So, we ended up running a 1500m race with steeples almost an hour after our planned start time, with no water jumps.
Funny thing was, there was already an existing city record for a water-less steeplechase race, which I broke :)
Guess I'm a waterless steeplechase record holder now?

Track race 11:10 [5] 3.0 km (3:43 / km)

Season opener 3k!
They raced the Jr and Sr girls together, so I paced with the top jr. Girl... Aka I paced her the whole time and she sprinted past me 100m to go.
I took this race pretty chill, deciding to keep an even pace the whole time and not have anything left to sprint in. I wasn't ever that comfortable, but I still felt relaxed so that's a great sign!
A second best time for me too, I'm getting excited for this season!

Running warm up/down 7:00 [1] 1.17 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Inspire 11

6 PM

Running warm up/down 6:00 [1] 1.02 km (5:53 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Inspire 11

Strength 35:00 [3]

ARX takes 'cross fit' !
In teams we had to push a prowler around a cone and back, with increasing weight (+45lbs each time to 180lbs)
Then our team had to all together sprint to another cone alternating carrying a 25lb med ball
All this x4

THEN we did some core, with v-sits in a circle passing 2 med balls around, and then the same but with planks.

Then we did a team competition with the med ball shuttle back and forth x5

I'm pooped

Legs felt dead on the last 100m of 400 and 300 but good on the 200s.

Track (Drills ) 10:00 [2]

Steeple drills.
My hurdles weren't feel very on point today, but my water jumps were. Guess my mind just wasn't really in it. I'm blaming my brain-deadness from this weekend and from writing the DELF French exam today
