Ottawa O-Fest Long/Chase
(time was 1:20.33 I just forgot to stop my watch)
This format is so fun! Managed to catch Evalin on #2 and then we were together until 5 where we lost each other. I knew that she was always behind me so I used that thought to keep pushing. Overal,l today went better than yesterday. I feel like I was more in contact with the map and I was really good about taking shorter compass bearings and actually staying straight. Made a small error on 9 and it seems like I was super close to it and then doubted myself. Another error going in too early twice on 13.

Ottawa O-fest Middle
This race went okay, a few bobbles and many hesitations because the contour detail was so subtle. Compass was generally bad because it was hard to see the 'hilltops' I wanted to run to. Still a nice area and a gorgeous day so it was hard to be grumpy about anything... even bruising my ankle bone on the same leg as my shin splint!

Running drills. Worked on running with our arms clenched in the same position to get our shoulders up and not twisting. Then worked on leg turnover.

First XC meet of the year!
Got a little tripped up at the start (almost fell, but didn't) so I worked a little harder than I wanted to so I could get a decent position. Slowly picked people off, especially on the up/downhill where I caught Chloe. Finished 7th, only 5 seconds behind Chloe who was 5th. Also, a course PB and our team won! :)

2x ~1000m loops since I had to leave practice early.
Our aim was to work on uphill as well as downhill running. First loop was ~850m, time was 3:27. Second was 1.3 at 6:44. With about 1:30-2 mins rest between. I was feeling pretty out of breath on the 2nd but after a visit to the doctor she said it wasn't anything to worry about. Probably just allergies or from heat/dehydration.
