ARX training in the noodles. Tried to take split times at every CP on my watch but I forgot a few. Felt pretty good mentally in the spaghetti mess but my legs were quite tired. Knee hurt off and on during the run, mostly on downhills.
School Adventure Running team starts on Tuesday! :D

Warmup with ARX in the first hour and then coaching with the second hour ARK Attack group. Buncha keen kids that I'm looking forward to coaching this season!

ARX contour only March Madness knockout! 2 controls and back to the start. About 2-3 mins rest between each set. Slippery, trecherous and sketchy are only some of the adjectives used to describe the conditions tonight. Still lots of fun!

Warmup, stretching and then the dice game! Helping give the nav throw down to Juliet who's new this season. Running was a little easier then normal.

Running around in the second hour with the ever-shoe-losing kiddies. Hopefully next week will be a little warmer!

Day 2 of the Fox Chaser! F21E

Tried to chose better attackpoints than yesterday, and for the legs that I did, I did well. (hm. coincidence?) So, I guess I have a training goal to work on.
The rest of the race was a little slower feeling than yesterday, even without the hills. Nicer woods today made for fun running. Took my time on the road crossing and planned out the general routes for the following legs. Starting to feel more calm when things start going funny and relocating quicker than before (i.e. CP 19)

Super fun weekend with the ARX gang :D

Orienteering race 1:23:35 [4] 9.78 km (8:33 / km) +249m 7:35 / km

Day 1 of the Fox Chaser at Ridley Creek! Ran the red course (21E) and I felt pretty great! Took the first few checkpoints cautiously to get into the terrain. Little bobbles on 1 and 14 but the rest was fairly clean. Used longer trail routes to pick up the speed.
Goal for tomorrow is to choose better attackpoints to help the confidence in the control circle.

On the rail trail with #turbo! I think I fell more times today than all year combined... Ski tips kept getting caught in the deep stuff.

Knee felt great skiing, but it still hurt walking and going down stairs.

Tough conditions out there! Legs were very tired after the second map.
I think I picked the right CPs in the box to skip, and I noticed I was re-folding my map early when I knew exactly where the checkpoint would be.
Mega faile missing the last CP on the last map, still ended up 2nd overall woman!

Twisted my knee yesterday and it's quite swollen right now :( ice ice baby...

I've been feeling very tired lately and I had a bad headache on Monday. Today during last period I got really dizzy and almost passed out during class. Hopefully this isn't a reoccuring thing, but Imma make sure to eat some red meat and hope my iron isn't low.
