Some easy laps of the park as well as 5x 300m knockout maze-like courses! Super fun!! :D
Also picked up some controls while ARK Attack did their thing. Nice to talk to them after about their routechoices and such.

Started at the bridge on Ravine Road and ran about 300m up x6 every 3:30 mins. Felt pretty good but didn't want to over-do it for this weekend.

Didn't try to over do it today because of OFSAA but I would have liked to have done more. Nicole and I still had a great time and the woods were stellar. :D
Shin is a little sore but nothing a good ice can't fix.

SOSSA!!
Our team won by a ton and I came 13th! PB'd by a whole bunch but I think the course was 4.7 instead of 5k. Felt strong and relaxed :D

Saw a doctor about my shin splints and she said it was most likely just stress on the inner ligament. Lots of ankle and calf exercises and maybe orthotics will do th trick.

Really good race for me!! Pushed hard, took good routes and read ahead on the long road sections. The last few controls were pretty crazy, and I lost a buncha seconds running to the wrong tree. Sprints are so fun! :)

NAOC Sprint Relay Leg 1

Raced the first leg on one of Canada's Jr team's with Adam, Michael and Laura! I had one of my best races ever. I was totally in the zone and I kept my head in the game the whole race. I had the same forking as Alex Jospe and we kept meeting up at the controls. She kept me pushing the whole race and I came in just behind her, that was a cool feeling! Adam, Michael and Laura all ran great legs, and we finished 2nd Jr team! Great end to an awesome weekend! Canada'll get em next time, eh!

Well this went a lot better than yesterday! Mistake on CP 3, relocated off of two different features and eventually found it. CP 4 was pretty confusing, not really sure how I found it. By this point, Emma S, Laura, Izzy and I were together. Izzy and I kept taking slightly different routes and kept meeting up with each other at the control. It was really fun running head to head, and it made me push a little harder. Took some weird routes through some brambles on the power line which made me lose some time, but the end of the course was good. Had a weird encounter with the photographer... maybe a little too close for flattering pictures... :P

Good course except for CP 6. Izzy caught up to me (you go girl!!) and I got pretty flustered and I took a super nasty route that went through the green crap... then I got super turned around. Tried to block out the mistake but I made a few other bobbles after that. Not the best race, but I still had a good time!

PreOFSAA in Waterloo!
Really surprised with this course! What it lacked in interesting terrain and hills it sure made up for it in mud!! :))
We didn't have out full team today, and unfortunately our top girl rolled her ankle on the first loop and had to drop out. We still managed 15th place overall out of a buncha teams. I placed quite well, even though I took this race a little easier than I would normally in prep for the weekend. Overall, I enjoyed the course, and I'm excited for the next few qualifying meets!!
Oh yeah, there were about 900 girls on the start line today, yikes!!

Today went way way way better than yesterday :) A little stupid bobble at 1, where I lost a bit of time. The rest of the course was clean, just a little hesitation on the technical stuff. The last loop was really fun, and I pushed hard.

Oh boi, not so hot today...
Little trouble on #3 and #9 but that was hardly an issue compared to #4. I kept convincing myself I was in the right area when I was way far off. Really need to work on concentration during long courses, especially those long legs.

Got into random teams with someone from each division in every team. Raced around the lawn bowling and then calculated our scores within our teams. Everyone was pretty competitive for places so it was quite a hard pace. My team won overall!
