OFSAA south regionals 3k
Felt really good on the first few laps, keeping up wth the lead pack... And then it kinda went downhill from there. I got cut off on one of the first few laps and stepped out weird on my foot landing more on the inside. Didn't hurt much at first but after another lap or so pain shot right up into my right shin and I basically trucked it in to the finish.
Anyways, proud of finishing and even making it to Souths this year.
Time to start some training for nationals, NAOCs and XC !

4 loops around George R Allan school with forking each loop. Some controls were also impossible to get to because of construction, so you had to figure out which ones while on the go. Maze at the end!

Track race (1500m SC) 6:05 [5]

SOSSA 1500m steeplechase !
Definitely not my best steeple race, slipped off the first water jump and went up to my knees, and the other two were not too hot... Did manage to hurdle more of the barriers this time though. Sadly, I came 6th, so didn't qualify for souths :(

SOSSA 3k!
PB by 31 seconds! (...only my second race but you know...)
Ran with someone this race, so that was a lot better mentally than last week. Kinda zoned out for a bit, so thank goodness for the final lap bell!
Felt awesome this race, and came 3rd! Moving onto south regionals next Friday!

Track was cancelled today because of rain, so I went down to the waterfront trail for a lil workout.
Did 400 (1:30); 400 (1:26); 300 (58); 200 (40); 200 (40); 300 (58); 400 (1:23) with about 2 mins of rest

Track race (1500m SC) 6:05 [5]

First 1500m steeplechase race of the year!

finished 2nd out of 8 girls, and the girl who won is in grade 12!
felt pretty good on the water jumps, but only hurdled 2 of the barriers... legs felt heavy so I stepped on most of them.
Probably could have pushed a little harder, time was 12 seconds slower that my PB last year.
Hammer got some intense pics, I highly suggest taking a look!
Advancing to SOSSA next week, so pumped!

400m
Decided to give the 400m a go, mainly to get points for the team and because I kinda enjoyed it in the relay last week.
it was pouring rain during this race which was fun...
went out too fast, but felt pretty strong most of the race.
finished 4th, but I'm not going to be racing it next week.

First ever 3000m on the track!
Legs were pretty tired from 400m, but there were only 4 girls in my devision so we all move on. kept trucking the whole boring 7 and a half laps and finished 2nd! I'm gonna need some entertainment for next week...

Easy run to Mac on the trails there and road back. Woods were so foggy and green with birds chirping it felt like we were in a rainforest!

Track practice at an actually track!
Started with 3x300m at about a 1500m pace (58,56,57) then did some steeple practice. Worked on hurdling and stepping on the barrier, and did 3x200m runs at 1500m pace with 1 barrier. Then worked on technique for the water pit and then did some block starts.

Track race 5:37 [5]

1500m
Wasn't feeling that great before the race, but during I felt pretty strong. Pulled off a 7th place out of 20 girls, but I think I could have pushed a little more.
I don't remember what my PB in the 1500m steeple last year was, but I should find it and compare to this race....

Track race 1:05 [5]

(Not sure what the time was so just a random guess)
Ran the 400m in the medley relay!
Our team was 3rd after our first three runners finished, and I managed to pull us into second! I've only ran a couple 400 races, mostly in relays, but this one was probably my strongest. Felt strong the whole race! :)

Next week is cities, I'm running 1500m steeplechase, 3000m and possibly 400m

Short warmup jog, lotsa stretching and some drills

Did some throwing stuff today, (.. Not my forte!) javelin, discus and shot put! The shot puts were a little on the heavy side... :P

Giant's Rib Raid with shipoopi and Chloe!
awesome day out, so we just enjoyed the course and all the cool caves! Took this one slower, as to not injure ourselves for track season.

Right shin is a little stiff, but nothing a hot tub can't fix :)
