Had planned to go for a long run or ride but problems with some furniture we bought took most of the day. Ate lots of food and watched the game though.

Ran the course early. Was not a part of the mass start. Did much better than last time out. Still had several mistakes but they were all small. My time was slower than most of the mass start. Think I could have run sub 50 on my own and would have liked to think I could have hung with Jon and Johan but not sure I am in the shape to.

Mostly clean through 22. 10 yards off here and there but I think that was it. Almost went right past Q and started the wrong direction from S to P. Attacked 28 incorrectly. Misread the map and thought it was on a hillside instead of in a reentrant. Lastly started attacking the wrong hilltop on my way to V.

Pace was slow at times but overall happy with my time. Would have liked to be more on par with the mass start though.

Ran orange. Definitely needed more time with such a short first course. Basically did the blue course backwards skipping the windows. Ended up making a mistake going to the wrong control. I was so comfortable in where I was going I didn't pay attention to the exact placement and went to another control that had been in the same window.

Did more running on this course. 5 to 6 was interesting. Besides the fact that I was starting from the wrong 5. I decided to run around the hill instead of over. Everything else was clean.

Run at Wakefield. Ran my loop. Realized I forgot my headlamp as I started and new I wouldn't finish before dark. Should have ran the other direction but wasn't sure I would remember the loop that way. Started having real trouble seeing about 45 minutes in (6pm, 30 min after sunset, i.e., twilight). Understandably the pace slowed. Surprisingly was still able to finish the loop though. Actually made the run a little more interesting and challenging.

It was cold. 25D with 10WC. Wind wasn't so bad in the woods. Although my left forearm and hand got much colder because of my watch. My shirt wasn't falling against my skin b/c of my watch and therefore it got colder. Odd but guess it made sense.

Stubbed the little toes on my left foot. They seem fine. Forgot my loop a couple times on the last section.

Was able to make a commute work today. 50D. Too hot in the clothes I was wearing. A decent headwind 10-20 MPH.

Was expecting better conditions but the pavement was wet and slick. Dropped KT off at the metro and then parked in the neighborhood across 7.

Pace was a little slow to account for the conditions. Lots of delays. No rush.

Ride home. Just back to the car. Warm enough to go in a jersey and shorts. Still a little hot. Humidity seems high. Roads still slick. Good tailwind but it was swirling a bit.

Had planned to ride in early this morning but decided it was too early and dark and I'd rather sleep for another 30 min. Weather is good today but schedule restrictive. Will try to squeeze in a short run tonight.

Ran home from puppy training in Arlington. Took Lubber Run, W&OD (horse path), and Rt 7. My first time on Lubber. This was a nice distance and mostly off road despite a lot of pavement. I will probably repeat it a few times in the coming weeks.

50's. Was dark out but plenty of city lights.
