Orienteering race 1:02:17 [2] 5.93 km (10:30 / km) +178m 9:08 / km

WNL Wavering Down.

Think I left brain in Oxford.

Spent most of the hour finding myself the wrong side of impenetrable gorse. And the rest of the hour just plain lost!!!

Struggled to find coherent attack points and several controls I just abandoned all hope as I couldn't relocate and moved on. One I was - from my GPS plot - only a couple of metres away from but the wrong side of the gorse! Must work on fine orienteering in the dark as compass and pacing just not accurate enough. Oh and the ability to fly to avoid gorse would also be worth working on.

But well planned and organised event... the little reflectors were awesome... thanks Ifor.

Oxford City Race

Reasonable run navigation wise - 1 control where I took a slightly longer route, slightly hesitant on two of the more intricate areas but overall I seemed to be overtaking more people than went past me, so disappointed to still be two thirds of the way down the field.

Need better running speed & speed endurance.

Better than last I suppose.

Fancied a break from the mud: 10k on the cycle path.

Wanted to do it in under an hour, reckon I would have made it had Sennen not decided to stop for a poo with 500m to go.

Swimming 40:00 [3]

Splash around - 2x200m splashing faster - 2x100m splashing reeeeeally fast - slow splash.
