British Champs. Not the best race i've ever ran...
Started off and almost instantly my calves were super tight. Don't know if this was because of the way I taped my ankle but the left leg seemed worse and my ankle and arch were really sore, when I haven't had any problems with for a bit.
My head just really wasn't in this race though:
Left 1 in the wrong direction. Ended up too far left on 6 and by the wall then had to climb back up a bit to get the control. 7 was awful, way off to the right. After that I said to myself for god's sake Rona you've got a compass, so use it! I was a bit better after that. To 11 stepped in a marsh and went in up to my waist which was pretty scary! Also too high on 13. Probably made 6-7 mins of mistakes total.
Maybe I put unrealistic expectations on myself seeing as I have been injured between the JK and now, haven't ran a long race this year and haven't been on a proper long run since before Christmas, but I just never normally orienteer like that. Guess with exams and stuff I've had other things on my mind...
