A clockwise after circuits loop. Felt like it was harder (more hilly) this way. Pace is all over the place. Easy effort.

Brindley Heath West mids league #1
incorporating WCH club champs.

Still got this headachey type bug. Don't know what it is but it's like a mild version of what I got in Chamonix. Just felt very slow and wheezy for the whole thing.
Eased into it by staying mostly on the paths and it worked OK up til #15. It was a choice of drop low to the main track or slog back up to the way I'd taken to #8 which was a chew. So took the stupid way and regretted it almost immediately.
Had to relocate to get #16 as got distracted by Mel hunting around muttering to herself.
Had a complete brain fart standing at the control and spun around in circles trying to orientate myself.
Set off for #17 knowing the right thing to do was peg it round the track. Still tried to be clever and direct through the heather. Consequently the control schooled me for not having an attack point.
Got fooled by the decoy #20 but wasn't too bad.

Overall the result was to be expected if slightly disappointing given the promising start.
Note. Must stop stopping at every control to press lap on the watch.

Ran an old Oldacre map with Henry. Got cut to pieces by bramble and had a bit of trouble finding the control locations inside or near the circle. Same as usual then.
Still feel grotty somehow.

Tentative ride out with Mary. Testing the water. She seemed to enjoy it this time.

Morning after fell race.
After perusing the map, couldn't face Baggeridge Park for the NYD score so headed up to the Mynd for a usual Skyline route or similar. Ended up running this race from the scout hut.
Felt sick as a dog from the off with nothing in the legs. Just plodded around. Shame as its a nice route.
Had some headache type bug for last few days but won't log it as I'd wager the medical name for it is idleitis.
