Intervals - long endurance 45:06 [3] 5.3 mi (8:31 / mi)

8 x 3 mins at the meadows, tho after looking at Strava, rep 6 only appears to be 2 mins. Tired legs. Also in crappy extra-cushioned shoes due to a touch of inov-8 foot.

Trail running 2:13:00 [3] 11.9 mi (11:11 / mi)

Usual long run companion Graeme stood me up this weekend by going orienteering. Bastard!!! I had totally forgotten there was an event on this weekend, and the kids could do with a weekend at home anyway. After yesterday's fuckwittage, I was determined to get out. So after football (lunchtime) and Jamboree on the Trail (don't ask!) in the afternoon I was finally in Bonaly, by myself, with a few hours to play with. Yay! Time to regain some sanity!

Bonnily car park, Hill-Strain Wedding stile, Castlelaw car park, Flotterstone, Turnhouse, Carnethy, the Howe, then in a Harlaw direction, picking up the path to scoot around the West side of black hill and home via Bells/Harbour. Bliss. Just bliss. My iPod seemed to be stuck on take that for the whole 2 hours 13 though. I like a bit of Gary as much as the next person, but I endured the same album 3.5 times! Gary's heartfelt lyrics are slightly different to Graeme's usual chat too...

Note

Jeez. Running opportunities melted away with hassle from work and home leaving a mighty :-( mummy. Took myself off to bed instead when the first running opportunity of the day appeared at 9:30pm. Insomnia has been a killer recently, so I took some sleeping pills, but they did't work. That's what happens when i fail to get running - too pissed off to sleep!

Road running 47:24 [3] 6.1 mi (7:46 / mi)

Lovely day. Hot-footed it down the roseburn cyclepath to Ferry Road area to deliver a letter, back through Inverleith Park. Legs still a bit tired, but the rest of me is starting to feel a bit like a runner.

Trail running 38:40 [3] 4.0 mi (9:40 / mi)

From work across the meadows, to Holyrood Park, down, up the crags and home. Short on time today alas.

Going to work. Was going to walk but was late.

Intervals - long endurance 1:11:00 [3] 6.0 mi (11:50 / mi)

CAAC training.

Lozza goes to CAAC on Tuesday's, and Ray managed to get home in time to look after Lucy, so I got to train. 6 x 1k. The idea was slow, med, fast, slow, med, fast. My tiomila 2013 calf pull always hurts when I try to run fast, and my sciatica is also kicking in so I was happy to join the slower of the two groups and take it easy, tucking in behind the pacer. Reps were 4:17, 4:02, 3:51, 4:18, 3:57, 3:50. Fun. Going to hurt tomorrow.

Road running 46:40 [3] 5.1 mi (9:09 / mi)

Home from work via the canal, Craiglockhart and meandering through the Grange. My legs hurt a lot these days, and today was no exception. My lack of left glute muscles that I have been getting away with for the past 20 years is starting to give me problems. I am having to stretch them a few times every day to be able to run.
