Trail running 30:14 [3] 3.0 mi (10:05 / mi)

i have just about got to the stage at work where I can get a bit more flexibility as they appreciate thst I get the hours in anyway. After working through lunch, I left at 4 so I could get a run in before resuming my parental responsibilities at 5:15. I trotted up blackford hill, and skidded down to the duckpond shambollockly, getting big muddy skids on my legs, back, arms, hands, but thankfully not my face.

Back past Marchment church to tesco. Legs felt shite, but happily that's not surprising.

Intervals - long endurance 1:01:42 [3] 6.8 mi (9:04 / mi)

My (probably annual) intervals session.

MPC. 3 x 9 mins with 4 min recovery. This felt ok. Legs not complaining. Tight chest but not too bad. Fun. I ran with one of the endless trotter men folk that I don't know the name of. The one with the look of a glakit potato, who if you were doing a film of the Broons you'd have to cast him as one of the big brothers on looks alone.

Trail running 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warm up down. Very nice day for it at Paxton House

XC / road / hill race 31:01 [3] 3.6 mi (8:37 / mi)

Borders League - Paxton house

Perfect race prep. A week of shite training then a great party the night before. Minimal sleep, but sober enough to drive from Dunblane to Berwick at 8:30.

Yesterday's park run felt even worse than Trotter training on Thursday, which is going some. I was not looking forward to today, but the cool crisp air already felt better than yesterday so I thought I'd jog round the first lap and see.

The plan worked well, with an easy start followed by moving through in the second lap. V satisfying, and I don't think I lost much time at all on Sarah ON and Rhona Anderson in the second lap. Wore my dobbs, which was nice. Still felt my breathing was restricted, but my legs felt ok and there was some endorphins for the first time all week. Pleased.

The whole Ward family have joined Interlopers for 2017, for various reasons. Ray left ESOC early 2016 and has been intending to join Interlopers for some months. I really appreciate the past 10 years with ESOC, but the time has come for a change.

XC / road / hill race 22:39 [3] 3.1 mi (7:18 / mi)

Portobello park run

Felt so, so awful. dropped out when I thought I might vom, but joined back in again. Legs screaming, chest screaming, dying.

XC / road / hill race 26:00 [3] 2.7 mi (9:38 / mi)

Jogged down. just 2 miles Ray said. It bloody wasn't. I walked the last bit to the start, I was so tired.

Happily before the start someone grabbed me and said that she knew me. It was Tricia Bloor, and she could give me a lift back after. TFFT!

Trail running 1:11:12 [3] 7.11 mi (10:01 / mi)

From work, along the canal to meggetland, then left into the 7 hills route home. Running still feels appalling. When will the unfitness/fatness/injuryness/oldness end? It must start to feel mildly less horrific soon?

Trail running 31:21 [3] 4.33 mi (7:14 / mi)

TTTT (trotter training time trial). Along the canal to the aqueduct and back. Felt truly awful. Nearly vomited on multiple occasions.
