Bubo day 2
http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/doma/show_map...Orienteering slightly on the sloppy side. Number 9 I thought I was on the white hill where I wanted to be 2/3rds of the way, but I orientated the map here and thought I was way wrong. I should have checked as I clearly orietntated the map wrongly. I was bang on, but didn't realise it, and went to the path to relocate. 11 I was just being thick, and trying to use the non-existant clearing (yup, sorry Nick). Needed more of a plan to 13.
20min lead overall now, so tomorrow I can have some fun. I'm going to go for the map reading the whole way approach, and take the more direct routes, just for a bit of variety!
Knee felt shite first thing, but iced it when still in bed, and it was surprisingly ok after that. It got a bit tired in the race, but only at the end and not as bad as yesterday. Fingers crossed tomorrow is ok. Trying out an interesting theory that if you run through enough pain your body becomes immune to pain signals, and doesn't notice it as much.
Felt slightly less unfit today, but something tells me tomorrow might be tough!
P.s. Ray winning M35 dispite running 1-2-1-3 (he left 2 thinking he was following the exit line to three, but it was the exit line back to 1 again). He was in the circle at 1 before he realised. That's impressive! Still, running fast enough and accurate in the rest (to best the 2 other competitors...).
