Orienteering - training 34:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:30 / mi)

Jog up to KB and around the scottish sprint champs 2010 mens course. Some whole buildings are now missing... Going to stop being such an orienteering geek and get some 'proper' training done this week.

Allt chellach (?) sprint training. No real mistakes apart from one, but didn't see four of the mini kites. They were pretty faded.
12 PM

Orienteering - training 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)

Cambus o may training. Map only no compass practice. Fun. Good training as it forces you to look up. Distance and time inc warm up / down

Orienteering - training 18:32 [3] 2.4 km (7:43 / km)

Note
(rest day)

Took a day off the o-ing and traumatised laurence by dragging him on the rollercoaster at landmark in carrbridge. He sportingly stood on his tiptoes when the man checked his height, then cried the whole trip. Man did i feel like a bad mother!

Getting selected for stuff is a bit expensive. Eoc = £70 accreditation then £40 relay entry and £80 for each other discipline then accomodation, flights, transport, food, petrol and grovelling to get the time off work.

Orienteering - training 23:00 [3] 3.3 km (6:58 / km)

Short session in phorp. Lovely terrain except for the felled bits. Feeling good.
11 AM

Orienteering - training 53:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:38 / km)

Phorp. Long training. Good fun but sleeting and i only had an o top on. Bad choice as i was feeling really fresh until i took a road option then my knee was excruciating. My glutes and back were also sore. Walked some bits to let the knee ease which made me really cold. Got around all 14 and pretty interesting terrain to. Hands got too cold to hold a compass so put it in my pocket and did the last 10 without pretty sucessfully.
4 PM

Orienteering - training 1:04:00 [3] 8.5 km (7:32 / km)

Culbin. time inc warm up / down. Loved it. What's not to love? dropped time on one controk thrpugh navigation and a lot of others as i was determined to find the flags which were small and faded. They were always where you thougt they pught to be, just a bit hidden.

Alvie. Time and distance a bit of a guess. Ran up the hill and orienteered down. Brilliant terrain. Great fun. Loved it all.
3 PM

Orienteering - training 35:00 [3] 3.0 km (11:40 / km)

Pretty much a contour only map, with vauge contour detail. Very tired. Orienteering mostly ok. Got to a point where i got so tired my body stopped, and refused to go any further. Walked back.

Orienteering - race 31:00 [3] 2.8 mi (11:04 / mi)

JK relays. Going ok. Missed number 2 slightly, and route to 8 was dire. Legs were too tired to chase Charlotte down, and Bex was well away. Pleased with 3rd.
