Orienteering - race 46:00 [3] 7.0 mi (6:34 / mi)

Belgium day 2

Everything in my body hurts. It hurts so much I woke at 5, and couldn't stop aching. I walked 5 mins to buy breakfast this morning though, and things eased slightly. No warm up run as the start was very close. It was an area of sandy intricate bits interspersed with some long dead running bits. The middle section had about 3.5of dead running with only 3 controls. I don't think that played to my strengths (or weaknesses, I.e. Lack of fitness). I made a few wobbles, 2 buy being flippant, and 1 by not knowing what a black cross on the map was supposed to be, so I couldn't find the control I had that was on one (a rootstock). Minor wobbles. I lost a lot on lack of fitness, and the way that my whole body is hurting, I can't see myself being able to pull together a training program anytime soon. But day 4 of 7 days of races is over, and I think I might get to the end of it. I think Johnny-foreign-lady did 43-ish.

Laurence finished today! Yay! Very proud. Tricky tricky courses. I was chatting to Sofie Hennuix after and she said she was pulling together a petition saying kids courses should be easier in Belgium. At least the british courses are a breeze in comparison.
