L Hip/Pelvis, Impact wound / trauma

2009-04-21 – 2009-05-01

Grade: 3

Bike ride. Flat tire on a steep descent. Run off the road at 30 mph. Road rash, on left side of torso and left arm. Bruising on left quad and left side of stomach and hip. Not able to sneeze and cough, let alone any bouncing moves like running.

6 days later was able to ride again and jog really easy on a flat surface. Still not being able to run.
10 days later was able to run on the TT with no pain or discomfort to affect my run.

Lucky I got away with no broken bones, but was not able to do any tapering for the TT.

Lots of Neosporin for the road rash, Ibuprofen and some herbal cream for the internal swelling and bruising, and Hydrocodone for the first few days while walking was a pain in the butt (pain in the side actually :-) )
