R Foot, Other

2013-06-13 – 2013-07-21

Grade: 3

Imflammation of right big toe joint. Probably an acute gout flare-up. I've had this before (infrequently, maybe every 12-18 months), but it's holding on longer this time. Can't put much weight on the front of foot - can not walk with normal stride. Limping badly.

As of 6/28, have had a blood test and am now on a prescription anti-inflammatory, which is at least knocking the symptoms down enough to walk almost normally (which is a big help to my mood, at least).

8/21 update: Gout is controlled now. Blood test came back positive for elevated uric acid. I was on the anti-inflammatory for two weeks, and then started on a daily med to control the uric acid levels. Toe is feeling fine now. My guess at a full recovery date is about a month ago.
